Do you want to support the young marine scientists to be able to travel from the Global South to Belgium to take part in international conferences or summer trainings? 

Belgian citizens can enjoy a tax benefit (tax reduction of 45% of the donated amount per year). Therefore, include the word 'donation' and personal details (full name, national registry number and address) in an email to filantropie@vliz.be. Companies should also include the company number. We will provide a tax certificate in the first quarter of the year following the donation(s).

Answering questions about our global oceans requires a global and interdisciplinary network of marine researchers. Interaction with the Global South is crucial. We award travel grants to early career scientists coupled with participation in an international marine conference or international marine summer training organised in Belgium corresponding to their expertise.
