The first Ostend Working Group came together around the theme 'The Ocean and Human Health'. Experts in how the health of the ocean relates to human health brought together their knowledge at Flemish level for the first time. On which aspects of our mental and physical health does the ocean have a measurable impact? Grouping this expertise shows that the sea has an impact on human well-being. Workshops bringing these experts together and the costs of publishing in scientific literature are reimbursed thanks to donations and sponsorships.
